rice,is the name we give to
the little stripy wooden villa
next to Pra Sart temple wall.
We love this little old
renovated home because it
is has a great Thai farmer
atmosphere and sits next to
Baan Khao San open air villa
in a quiet corner where we
grow bananas, lemongrass
and bamboo to eat.
It has gorgeous king size
antique Burmese bed, very
high teak ceilings, banana
tree paper lanterns,
reclaimed weathered teak
cladding all round with a
good size en-suite modern
but rustic bathroom
including thermostatic
controlled shower, beautifully
panelled bathtub and the
cutest wooden clad exterior
roof.
Windows are mosquito
screened or glazed in the air

Baan Khao San is an
antique rice barn on stilts
with quirky character
wooden utility features
which we decided to leave
open to view when it was
relocated from nearby rice
farm to BaanBooLOo. It has
a weathered but effective
old original teak tiled roof.
Walls are only partially
panelled and screened.
Privacy is afforded by
traditional roller blinds and
long curtains around the
sleeping area.
Sleep comfortably with the
protection of a large
mosquito net but don't be
surprised if the odd
butterfly is flying through
your room at break of
dawn. To one side, when
you wake a view of Doy
Suthep mountain through
palm trees on clear days.

You are located to the rear of the garden next to temple Wat Pra Sat. You need
to be polite and quiet for in the morning you will probably wake to hear monks
chanting or even waving and chatting to you over the garden wall.
Baan Khao San is comfortable and spiritual. You are high up on the stilts - the
traditional form of protection from nature - this can also help acclimatise
trekkers for more challenging in the deep jungle and for all who sleep there to
get all natural energy from the earth.
Sleep on a queen mattress on a slarge turdy mahogany platform. This is a
beautiful natural life experience. A blissful spot to sleep, meditate and do yoga
with nature all around you.
Baan Khao is the owners' favourite room in the house a kind of heaven on
Earth. Baan Khao is the ideal Thai style sleeping or secluded honeymoon
environment. It's private enough for most, secluded and romantic. A treasure
of old and new.
It has a wonderful outdoor bathroom, toilet and shower which in time will be
engulfed in part by the bamboos growing through the centre of what is an
open air annexed room.
There is no air conditioning as this room is open air and fan usually suffices.
For fresh air lovers this is as good as it gets in this old city! April can be hot in
this room for some but we prepare ice water fan ready for you.

character who people turn to
in the local area for advice.
At BaanBooLOo we prepared

upstairs in the front of Thai
house where ‘Mae Lieng’ can
meet her friends or a group
of women workers can sit
and chat together whilst
weaving silks or learning to
prepare elaborate local
dishes for their husbands.
This suite projects a
matriarchal energy with an
open front view to the quiet
lane ( Soi ) outside the
house. There is ample space
and sleeping for most
families.

BaanBoolOo is probably the most relaxing place in the old centre of Chiang Mai for nature lovers to unwind,
meditate, do yoga, or just lie back take a Thai massage and enjoy birds chirping and nature right in the

At BaanBooLOo we prepared this imposing masculine energy room on the
ground floor of the Thai house so that Poh Lieng can meet people who need
help and call him at night time for assistance - but don’t worry. You will sleep
undisturbed in his room.
We have a reception area to take care of all our guests in modern times ;).
The design of this room is masculine and evokes the presence of powerful
ancestral forces.
